There it is. Below, in the previous post. The ongoing cost of war. This war. This debacle, quagmire. This Vietnam revisited. You think we could have found a way, a more peaceful way, to spend that cash?
Maybe solve MOST of the hunger, medical, economic problems here AND in the most needed regions? Talk about a USA public relations coup. We could have been what we stand for. Freedom. Justice. Peace. “CHRISTIAN”.
But no, we’re better off in that mess in the desert. USA: vengeful, imperial, condescending, aggressive, our-way-or-the-highway.
“Our” men & women losing their lives. “Their” men & women & children losing their lives. Thousands.
Over what again? Because Al Queda would march into D.C. if we didn’t?
Fear-mongering, hate-mongering. That’s been the attitude of some “leaders” and many Americans.
So what’s that counter up to now? $600 billion+?
You getting your money’s worth? OVER HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS!!?!?! You think that’s providing us our precious National Security?
It’s way past the time to change direction. “Stay the course” stands for, “We’ll look like cowards if we quit”, and “oh my, what will happen if we leave?”.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think the same way I did when I was 20, 30, 40. “Changing our minds” when new information and knowledge is acquired is NORMAL.
Einstein said, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it”. You HAVE to CHANGE YOUR MIND.
If we didn’t, women would still not be allowed to vote, or God forbid, run for President.
If we didn’t, AMERICANS of (more recent) African descent would not be allowed ANY freedom, let alone be a Presidential candidate.
As most of us have heard, the definition of “insanity” is repeating the same behavior over and over and expecting different results.
That means, it’s okay to Change Your Mind.
