This Friday, 10/2 is “First Friday” around here. That means the downtown PHX arts district comes alive with thousands of people, street vendors and galleries. And with October comes (hopefuly) significant cooler temps.
This month also brings a new twist on the FF theme; “First on First”.
Branching out to First Street, the organizers are expanding the reach of the art walk to include a nearby downtown area that features eclectic restaurants and demographics.
I volunteered to set up my booth on First so I guess I am one of the first on First for “First on First”. Ha.
Sorry, that was bad.
Okay, here’s how they put it….
Fridays on First Street
Announcing an exciting expansion! In addition to the vendors street festival at 5th & Garfield, October 2nd’s First Friday is the debut closure of First Street! The idea behind this experiment is to activate the street between Fillmore & Pierce to connect ASU dormitories, the Central light rail and Civic Space Park festivities to the hub of award-winning restaurants at 1st & Pierce.
And take your pick: The Breadfruit (authentic grill, local art & BYOB), Pasta Bar (handmade pasta & drinks), Turf Pub (Irish restaurant & pub), Sens (Asian tapas, sake & drinks).
